About Fine Fullery

My Craftsmanship

At Fine Fullery, I personally create meticulously imperfect art jewellery - from combinations of wool, silk, reclaimed or left-over random fibres, and sometimes beads.  

   My hand-making practise embraces the iRregular and unexpeCted as both a gift and an aesthetic --- while adhering to an ethos of strict quality and durability.

My art carries within it my unusual upbringing in the Australian bush -- room to roam, a house full of books, and my mother's practiced philosophy that art and life are the same thing.

I trained as a Jeweller and Metalsmith long ago, at Box Hill TAFE. It seems a very obvious and silly thing to state, but metal is - hard. I never became good friends with metal, and did not work as a jeweller for many years.

Finding a bag of coloured wool at the op-shop in lockdown times led me to trying a new craft with my kid...

   Tactile softness; bountiful colour - and the most glorious, fun-to-wear lightness! Voila, my love of making with my hands was re-ignited ... and some daring adornment began.

...And while exploring a new medium, new suppliers and materials...I found an excuse to play with pipe-cleaners as an adult ...combined with wool, of course.

I would like to thank the creator of the very first Youtube tutorial my kid chose & I learned from: Peter McMasters of SpryWhimsy. This sent me down a very floral road....
